Programme for Exchange Visit
Manningtree / Frankenberg September 1971




Wed 15th

7.00 Hosts to be at school to meet Guests.



Thurs 16th

Hosts to bring or send Guests to school on school buses. Morning at school, school lunch. Afternoon trip to Dedham and row down river to Flatford and back. Return to hosts by school buses.



Fri 17th

Hosts to bring or send Guests to school on school buses. Then an all day Local Tour to include Colchester Castle, St. Osyth, Clacton, Frinton and Walton. Packed lunches will be required. Children will be brought back to villages at about 6 pm.



Sat 18th

All day visit to the Open Day at RAF Coltishall to see displays view aircraft and to watch flying display. Picking up points as per attached lists. Leave Coltishall 5.30 approx. Arrive home 8 pm. Everybody will be brought to the villages. Packed lunch required.



Sun 19th

Free with Hosts.



Mon 20th

All day visit to Cambridge via Sudbury, Bury St. Edmunds, Newmarket. Lunch will be provided. Afternoon sightseeing around colleges and town. Return at 5.30 arriving home about 7.30. Picking up points as per attached lists and everybody will be returned to the villages.



Tues 21st

All day visit to London to see Tower Bridge, The Tower, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly, Trafalgar Square. Packed lunch required. Picking up points as per attached lists but please note they have changed a little especially times. Everybody will be returned to the villages. We aim to home by 8 pm but this depends on the traffic.



Wed 22nd

Morning free but probably into school on school buses. A brief formal gathering in the school hall to be held at 3 pm to which parents and friends are invited. Return home on school buses and evening free.



Thurs 23rd

All day visit to Windsor and the Safari Park. Packed lunch required. Picking up points as per attached lists. We aim to leave Windsor by 5 pm arriving home about 8 pm. Everybody will be returned to the villages.



Fri 24th

Free with hosts.



Sat 25th

Hosts to bring Guests to school by 9.30 am. The Coach will leave for Parkeston at 9.45 am and the boat sails at 12.15 pm.
